Fifth Avenue South: the main stage

Fifth Avenue South is the lively heart of downtown — about five blocks of restaurants, boutiques, galleries, and sidewalk dining under Mediterranean-style architecture. It’s where the energy is: live music on Evenings on Fifth, seasonal festivals, the Sugden Community Theatre (home of the Naples Players), and Cambier Park, which hosts free concerts and the annual Naples National Art Festival. Third Street South: the original

A few blocks south, Third Street South is the older, more intimate district — Naples’ original shopping street. Dinner, then sunset at the beach

Here’s the move that makes this town feel almost unfair: have dinner on Fifth or Third, then catch the sunset at the beach afterward. The Gulf is a long, pleasant walk or a very short drive from downtown, and a Naples sunset — over the pier or the open Gulf — is the nightly main event. Dinner and a sunset with no planning required is the everyday version of the Naples good life.

Why it matters if you live here

Both districts sit inside the walkable Old Naples grid, which is the whole point: you can park once — or, if you live in Old Naples or Port Royal, simply walk — and move between Fifth Avenue, Third Street, the beach, and the pier on foot.
