Lely Resort Naples: The Complete Guide to The Classics, Mustang, Flamingo & The Players Club

Lely Resort is one of Southwest Florida’s largest and most complete master-planned communities — about 2,900 acres off Collier Boulevard (CR-951) and US-41 in South Naples, developed primarily by Stock Development, with 40+ neighborhoods and a price range that spans first-time-condo to estate. Here’s the complete guide. (Verify current fees, memberships, and pricing per home.)
Three golf courses, two of them public
Lely’s golf is unusually accessible:
- Flamingo Island — a Robert Trent Jones Sr. design, public (pay-as-you-play).
- Mustang — a Lee Trevino design, public.
- The Classics — a Gary Player design, private (equity membership), inside the gated Classics Plantation Estates.
So you can live at Lely and play world-class golf without a membership — or join The Classics for the private experience.
The Players Club & Spa
The amenity centerpiece is the ~30,000 sq ft Players Club & Spa: lagoon and lap pools with waterfalls, a family pool and tiki bar, 13 Har-Tru tennis courts, pickleball, bocce, a 6,000 sq ft fitness center, a full-service spa, and club dining. (On the public-golf side there’s also Sam Snead’s Tavern.)
The key thing buyers must understand is membership: per the 2026 schedule it’s a $10,000 refundable deposit plus $6,400/year + 6% Florida sales tax. Crucially, some neighborhoods require it (a recorded Amenities Covenant), others make it optional, and a few are mixed — so the same listing price can carry very different annual costs depending on the covenant. Always confirm it for the specific home. There’s also a master-association component (roughly $30/quarter plus a $1,500 capital contribution at closing). (Verify all figures.)
The neighborhoods & price ranges
Lely’s scale is its superpower — there’s genuinely something at most price points:
- Condos & golf villas (Ole, Greenlinks, Coral Falls, Sunstone, Twelve Oaks) — roughly $250K–$700K. Greenlinks notably allows short-term rentals — rare and valuable for investors.
- Coach homes & villas (Hawthorne, Ascot, Saratoga, Cordoba, Mustang Villas) — roughly $300K–$1.2M, low-maintenance living.
- Single-family (Masters Reserve, Players Cove, Tasori, Prestwick Place, Champions) — roughly $500K–$1.4M, many with pools.
- Estates & luxury (Classics Plantation Estates, Lakoya, Majors, Lely Island & Tiger Island Estates) — roughly $1M–$3.9M.
A recent snapshot showed about 124 homes for sale, from the high-$200Ks to ~$3.3M — it’s now primarily a resale market, with a few final Stock phases (Lakoya, Tasori, Sunstone) representing the newest construction.
Who Lely fits
Lely suits an unusually wide range of buyers: snowbirds and retirees who want resort amenities and public golf without a forced membership; full-time families who want pools, fitness, and space; investors (Greenlinks/Ole short-term rentals); and luxury buyers who want a private course at The Classics. The trade-off to manage is the membership covenant — get that right for your neighborhood and the value is excellent.
